Fallon

This little dolphin is named after a very special young woman who truly loved dolphins. We wanted to choose a special calf to become her namesake, one who would illustrate the specialness of Fallon herself and the great love her family have for her. We chose a baby dolphin who was only several months old at the time, born approx early April 1998. At this age, they are incredibly cute and very mischevious.

This little dolphin is very special too. In fact she is famous! During winter, she was spotted trailing a whole pile of netting that was caught around her little body. Several people tried very hard to get rid of the netting and though her mother (number 22)seemed to understand the humans were there to help, the rescue attempts were unsuccessful and it was getting very dark. We all worried about its safety, and some felt sure it wouldnt survive the night..Next morning we launched another rescue and found the baby almost straight away. This in itself was remarkeable but what was really fabulous was all the netting was gone and she was fine :-).

During this time all the local boats were looking out for number 22's baby and so she became famous! She is still one of the most looked-out for dolphins in our waters. Her mother (freezebranded with number 22) is also very well known and a very experienced mother so we feel sure her baby Fallon has a very secure future.
