We did a short 10 day trip to Singapore and Malaysia in June 2000, this time without the kids. We were invited to a Chinese wedding in Singapore, so we combined this with 5 days in peninsular Malaysia by simply crossing the causeway.  We spent the whole time soaking up the atmosphere of Melaka. It was a nice, short getaway, but I don't plan to put anything on the website about it.

I spent 2 weeks in China in October 2001 for work.  One week was spent in Tianjin working, then I spent 7 days in Beijing sightseeing.  It was very enjoyable and I recomend it to anyone.

I spent 10 days in Spain in June-July 2002 for work.  7 days in Galecia (north-western Spain) on the coast of Bay of Biscay (or Cantabrian Sea depending where your from).  2 1/2 days were spent in Madrid.  We'll definitely go back when we "do" Europe in a few years.

We were planning on 5 weeks independant travel around peninsular Malaysia in Dec 2002/Jan 2003. We were to take my son and his friend and my daughter.

We had also planned for Laos and Vietnam in late 2000, early 2001 for 6 or 7 weeks (which is why there is info about them on this website). We were again going to take the kids, and travel independently on a budget. I guess it would have cost us around A$100 a day, so our 6 or 7 week trip would have cost a total of around A$10,000 (including flights from Perth, Australia, visas etc).
