Well I
guess for those of you that do not know me, I should tell
you a little bit about myself...
So if you get a little bored with the reading I do
apologise and maybe you might like to leave a comment in
my guest book. My name is Marty and I was born in a
little village in the south of Wales in the UK in the
grand old year of 1958. Yes, you have got it...you can
work out the math. My family emigrated to Adelaide, which
is the capital city of South Australia in February 1966.
I attended Hillcrest Primary School and later Gilles Plains High
School. I left school at the age of 16 and joined the
navy. I stayed in the Navy for 22 years and served mainly
on Frigates and discharged with the rank of Chief Petty
Officer (Senior Chief Petty Officer to our American
compatriots). During my time in the navy I was lucky
enough to live approximately 6 years in the USA, off and
on. Mainly around San Diego and Long Beach in California
and my favorite, Seattle, in the state of Washington. I
married a girl from San Diego in 1988, we had a son, Tyler, who was born in 1991.
Unfortunately, like so many marriages these days, it
ended in divorce. I haven't seen Tyler since he was one
year old and living in San Diego with his mum. I believe
they are now living somewhere in Wisconsin. If, by any
chance, you stumble across this page and you know Tyler,
please either let me know how he is doing or give him my email address.
My ship was
homeported to Western Australia in 1992 and because of
this I was finally able to vacate the hussle and bussle
of Sydney and settle in a town called Rockingham or Rocky , which is approximately 50kms
(30 miles) south of Perth, the capital city.
I
discharged from the navy on Easter Monday 1997 and now
work for the Department of Defence
